Let me introduce you to Pastors Elzivan and Regina Ramos and their beautiful family. They have been pastoring in Coari for about two months. Before that, they pastored in a small church for about two years. Previously, the started with only a handful of people and left the church running over 180 in two years. They were asked to take over the work in Coari. Coari is experiencing a population boom because of the discovery of petroleum near the city. It has grown by over 30000 people very quickly. God has brought this family here at a strategic time. I fell in love with this couple. Elzivan is an amazing person. When he walks into the room, there is no doubt who is in charge - not with arrogance or oppression but with a spiritual authority that is indescribable. This church needs our help. First, this family is living in a little apartment attached to the church. They are literally sleeping on the floor. I have committed to raising $6000 for the purchase of a parsonage. Second, I have committed to raising an additional $6000 for the restoration of the building that my dad built 35 years ago. This would repair the roof and renovate the apartment into Sunday school rooms. We need to help this couple prepare for the growth that I believe is on the horizon. Thus, I will plan within the next year to take a group to Coari to spend a week working on the church. Let me be frank. If you read this and are interested, let me know. But, please be advised that all whiners, complainers, and wimps need to stay home. Only people with a real passion to win the lost need respond.

Dear Lee,
I love the new pics. And yes, count me in for next year. Also, Zoe, 16, and my heart daughter, Sally, age 26, will go with me. They are mission troopers and won't whine, complain, or be self-centered. We don't need any of that on a missions trip. God has had Brazil on my heart for more than ten years now. Also, our church will pledge $1,000 for the church renovation. Let me know when you need the money. Keep the fire burning; I think God is "up to something"! Keep in touc, Love, T.
