On the beach in Fortaleza, there is a large market. Thousands of vendors gather to sell trinkets and souvenirs. There are many beggers that wander about. This is "silver guy." He is twenty-two years old and is only a couple of inches taller than my four-year-old. He paints himself silver every night and stands on a little box out in the market place with another little box in front of him where people can drop money. He has trained himself to stand so still that you cannot see him breathing. When you drop money in his little box, he moves like a robot and makes funny faces. I love this guy.
